Recipe Type: Entree
Using a crock pot will make the turkey much more tender than if you were cooking it in the oven.
- 1 Whole Turkey Breast (4-7 Lbs)
- 2 Cups Chicken Broth
- 1 Stick Cabot Butter
- 1 Genuine Vidalia Onion
- Salt and Pepper
- Pat turkey breast dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Place the turkey breast into your crock pot. Make sure it is placed breast-side down.
- Wash your hands well.
- Cut onion up coarsely. Take the pieces of the onion and push them down next to the turkey. Place a few pieces into the rib cavity. Add the stick of butter.
- Pour broth over the top.
- Put the cover on the crock pot. Cook on low for 7 to 9 hours, or on high for 4 to 6 hours. Use a meat thermometer to make sure it has reached an internal temperature of 170°F.
- Once turkey is cooked, remove from the crock pot. Let sit for 20 minutes before carving. Serve.
