Zeigler’s Apple Cider
Their Story…
We love Zeigler’s Apple Cider not just for its fresh quality as a product, but the story behind it. After doing some research, we discovered that Zeigler’s, like Trucchi’s, is a family owned business. They also started their business around the same time, in 1932. A man named Maurice Henry Zeigler was struggling to make ends meet and support his 6 children. Working at Ford Motor Co. was not enough and he needed the additional income. Pressing apple cider with his father as a child, he had the idea to build his own press in the garage behind his house. He began to make and deliver his freshly pressed apple cider on Saturdays, with the help of children. Selling door to door in local areas.
The Zeigler business began to flourish. As the demand for Zeigler’s Cider grew quickly, he soon needed more space than his garage to operate his business. After purchasing a plot of land and moving his operation, he quit his job at Ford to commit to his Cider business full time. As word spread about his cider, they began wholesaling and eventually started serving supermarkets with direct store delivery.
Today, Zeigler’s Cider is available in 32 States during the Fall. Their business is continuously growing. Three generations have been involved in the family business, strengthening the determination and dedication necessary to reach such success.
The Product…
What makes Zeigler’s Apple Cider so special? It comes from 100% Fresh U.S. Apples, never from concentrate. Their family recipe, passed down from generation to the next, is the perfect blend of sweet and tart apples. They do not just use one specific type of apple, giving it a unique flavor. There is no added sugar to their cider, but there is sugar contained in the cider because of the apples. It is also gluten-free, which goes for all of their beverages. Each batch of cider is taste-tested to ensure high quality. Cider is full of rich antioxidants because it keeps much of the pulp from the apple.
