Special Tips
Here are some great tips on how you can maintain portion control without starving yourself.
• Staying hydrated is incredibly imported for numerous reasons. But if you’re looking to lose weight, water is the answer. It suppresses your appetite, and helps flush fat breakdown from your body. There are countless benefits to drinking water, but if you’re trying to lose a few pounds…water is the main ingredient.
• By bringing your own Brown Bag Lunch to work, you’re giving yourself the ability to control your portions. Packing your lunch in advance also takes away the option of impulsive eating from those snack machines.
• A common issue for many of us when we begin a diet is something we like to call “snack denial”. For all of you “Snackers” out there…keep snacking. There’s nothing wrong with munching on your favorite treats in between meals. If you try to completely cut out snacks from your diet, the results are never good. Do you want to be pushing over your coworkers (or worst case–your boss) because you can’t get to that snack machine fast enough? We didn’t think so. Trust us on this one. So if you’re one of those “Snackers”, we have a pretty simple solution. Continue to snack. Just be sure you’re packing healthier treats, and slightly smaller amounts. You’ll be much more successful if you gradually cut back on snacking, rather than excluding snacks from your day completely. Try packing Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs (2/$5 – 3.7-4.86 oz) for a delicious treat, that allows you to manage the portions of your snack. Or swing by our Produce Department and pick up Del Monte Fruit Naturals (10/$10 – 8 oz Cups). With 8 different varieties available, you have a wide selection to choose from.
