The appetizers, side dishes, beverages and desserts are all just as important as the main entree. Have a look at these “Side Kicks” that are sure to have your guests raving about around the dinner table.
Beverages
We like to do something a little different with our beverages during the holiday season. Crush up some candy canes on a plate. Dip the rim of the glass into the beverage, then immediately into the plate of crushed candy canes, so they stick to the glass.
Serve Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider at the dinner table. Keep presentation in mind. Maybe add a slice of a Crisp MacIntosh Apple to push into the rim of the glass to add something extra.
Make something exciting for the kids to drink, like a Root Beer Float. Just add a few scoops of Hood Vanilla Ice Cream to a glass of A&W Root Beer.
Appetizers
We have numerous Holiday Seafood Appetizers available. Remember to pick up the classic appetizers like Shrimp. Great finger food and a “must have” at any get together, especially during the holidays. Pick up our Large Cooked Cocktail Shrimp. Don’t forget the Ken’s Cocktail Sauce for dipping. Or you can pick up Seamazz Cooked Shrimp Rings if you’re feeding a smaller crowd.
Yankee Trader Scallops Wrapped In Bacon and Mini Crab Bites are available in our Seafood Department that make fantastic appetizers.
It seems as if every family has their own favorite dip to make during the holidays. Our family favorite is Dill-Licious Dip.
We found a fantastic Pepperidge Farm recipe called Holiday Brie en Croute. Pick up Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets to make this incredible sweet, cheesy appetizer.
Side Dishes
One of the best side dishes we’ve ever made are Crunchy Candied Yams. The sweet marshmallows and the crunchy walnuts give just the right flavor and texture to your yams. Everyone goes in for seconds when it comes to this side dish, so make sure you make extras!
Serve some baked potatoes using our Genuine Idaho Baking Potatoes. Serve with a dollop of Hood Sour Cream on top.
Make a Green Bean Casserole using Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup and French’s French Fried Onions.
Desserts
Now to our favorite part of the holiday dinner…Dessert. Our bakery is full of incredible Grab & Go desserts that are sure to be a hit at your party. Pick up a Carvel Snowman Ice Cream Cake, or our 7″ Christmas Decorated Cakes. If you’re entertaining a crowd with diverse taste, we suggest Dianne’s 8″ Variety Cheesecake to offer a wide selection.
For those of you who are a bit more daring and want to make their own desserts, our bakery carries Lady fingers as well. Try making Tiramisu Cake with them.
Pick up Nestle Cookies to bake with the kids. Let them decorate their own cookies with red and green sprinkles.
