The fall season has finally arrived…which means its time to enjoy those apples. Here are some ways we like to eat (or not eat) our apples.
Many of us have made those yummy peanut butter and banana sandwiches. But how about some thinly sliced apples? We can’t get enough of the combination of creamy Peter Pan Peanut Butter and sweet juicy apples. And who says you need to use bread? Cut a cored apple into thick slices (horizontally) and use them to hold your peanut butter sandwich together. A great idea for those who are trying to lower their daily intake of carbohydrates. Pick up Kellogg’s Granola with Raisins and sprinkle some in between your apple sandwich for some extra crunch. (Special Trick: To keep the apple slices from browning, use lemon juice.)
Heat up sliced apples in a sauce pan with some Old Dutch Apple Juice Cocktail butter, cinnamon and nutmeg for about 10 minutes. Mix in a blender and serve hot or cold. Pack some up in a small container to put in the kids’ lunchboxes.
Core an apple and scoop the inside out, into the shape of a bowl. Add some Chicken Of The Sea Solid White Tuna inside. A great lunch idea. Or you can try adding your Dannon Yogurt inside the apple bowl with some granola.
Bobbing for apples a common favorite of childhood memories. If you’re planning any special parties for the kids, they’ll love playing this game.
Cut them in half and have the kids dip into paint and use as stamps.
Cut apples into wedges and serve with some cottage cheese. A healthy and delicious snack.
Melt some caramel to make candy apples with the kids.
Core and slice up an apple and dip into melted chocolate and let harden for Chocolate Covered Apple Slices.
