If you’re fresh out of ideas for a unique Valentine’s gift, try making one instead of buying. It’s always more meaningful when someone takes time out of their day to make a gift…especially when its edible.
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Nothing says “I love you” more than delicious Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Use Premium Chocolate Break-up available in our Fruit, Nut and Candy Program. You don’t have to stick to just milk chocolate either. Try dipping the strawberries in white chocolate. After they dry, drizzle dark chocolate over them or dust with cocoa powder. If you have a fondue set, now is the time to break it out. It will make eating Chocolate Covered Strawberries that much more fun.
Strawberry Shortcake
If you really want a quick and easy dessert to make, you can’t go wrong with strawberry shortcake. Mash your strawberries in a bowl add a pinch of sugar, and pour over Freshly Baked Angel Food Cake ($2.99) from our bakery.
Breakfast In Bed
Surprise your valentine with some delicious breakfast. Bisquick Shake ‘n Pour Pancake Mix (10/$10) makes the perfect Morning Meal. Try throwing in some chocolate chips or fresh blueberries while cooking them. Place the plate of pancakes on a tray, along with a bowl of cut strawberries and Vermont Pure Maple Syrup ($4.99) on the side. Decorate the tray with a small vase of flowers.
Cookie Hearts
Make your own cookies and decorate them with some Cake Mate Icing (2/$3) however you’d like. Try shaping your own letters out of the cookie dough so it says a message. Or you could use a cookie cutter to make the cookies heart shaped. They make a great gift to your coworkers or for the kids to bring to school.
