As we took a good look at our specials in next week’s flyer, we thought of some different ideas for your Brown Bag Lunch. Take a look at what we thought of with our sale items in mind. If you want to inspire us, share your tricks and help us out. If you’re a fan of Trucchi’s Supermarkets on Facebook or Twitter you can post your ideas to us. Or you can write to us on our blog.
It’s The Little Things…
Add some life to your salad. Slice up ¢entsational $avings Pears to throw in. Praline Pecans available in our packaged Fruit, Nut and Candy program are great to add as well. Don’t forget to sprinkle on Crumbled Gorgonzola or Feta Cheese from our Deli department.
Recreate the sandwich you always order at your favorite sub shop. If you like to indulge in an Italian Sub for instance, make one with your different lunch meats. Land O Lakes American cheese is at a fantastic price next week for $4.59 lb. in our deli department. If you’re looking for something different than mustard or mayonnaise, try adding chutney instead.
A Stitch In Time…
Try making your sandwiches with Wraps instead. Lay out your wrap and add some Romaine Lettuce and sliced Plum Tomatoes before adding your meats. Rather than sliced cheese, try shredded cheese for a change. Use Wax Paper as you roll your sandwich together and slice at an angle. Now you don’t have to worry about making tomorrow’s lunch.
Who says you can’t eat breakfast for lunch? If you like Chocolate Croissants, we have a fun way to make your very own with Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Before rolling each of the triangular shapes to form your Crescent Roll, line the bottom of each roll with Chocolate chips. Throw in the oven and bake and you have turned your Crescent into a Croissant. A great time saver if you have to make lunch and worry about breakfast.
Chicken Tenders are at a great price next week. Try dipping them in a barbecue or teriyaki sauce instead of eggs before dunking them in bread crumbs. Make enough for leftovers to cut up and cover with Parmesan cheese and you will have a great lunch for the kids. A great time saver.
You Are What You Eat…
Grab your favorite flavor of Dannon Yogurt in a 32 oz. Tub that will be on sale 2/$5.00 next week. Pick and choose what you like in your yogurt, like granola or fruit. Empty the yogurt into tupperware to pack. If you like fruit in your yogurt, we suggest frozen. Throwing some frozen blueberries into your yogurt before you take off for the day will keep your snack chilled until you’re ready to eat. Buying larger packets of granola from our Fruit Nut and Candy program will save you money in the long run.
Fuze Healthy Infuzions are only 10/$10.00 next week. If you haven’t tried these drinks already, you should. Each flavor has a different combination of vitamins and minerals so they’re actually good for you. A great alternative if you’re sick of drinking water.
