CAN Hunger! Continues
These days, the less fortunate in the area need help year round, and that's the reason that Trucchi's Can Hunger food drive isn't just for the holidays anymore. The successful program delivered donated food to a number of food pantries around the region this holiday season.
However, after the donations were made this year, word came back that these times are especially difficult for many area families for a variety of reasons. Among the causes are the rises in gasoline and heating oil prices. Also, many of the pantries have recently had their aid cut.
Trucchi's answered the call by making its CAN Hunger! Food Drive year round. The announcement was made in a February advertisement, and will be featured in subsequent ads and in-store signage. Through the program, new non-perishable canned or boxed food items are collected at each store and distributed to a food pantry in each town that is home to a Trucchi's. (The locations are Taunton, St. Vincent De Paul; West Bridgewater, the West Bridgewater Food Pantry/Council on Aging; and Abington, Abington Food Pantry; New Bedford, Solanus Casey Food Pantry.) See your local Trucchi's Supermarket for more details.
