Getting In The Habit...

Trucchi’s Reusable Tote

Trucchi’s Reusable Tote Bags are larger than the typical paper bag, sturdy enough to jam as much as you can fit and have reinforced handles. Many customers have transitioned to reusable bags and have found the only drawback is remembering to use them and bring them back. Here are a couple suggestions to help you get in the habit…

As soon as you unload your grocery purchases at home consolidate all the bags into one and hang it on the outgoing door handle. This will remind you to return your Trucchi’s Reusable Bags to your car the next time you leave.

Consider where you store the bags the next time you return them to your car. Try an in-your-face approach similar to hanging them on the outgoing door handle. Keep the bags in the front of the car instead of the rear; folded between the seats or on the floor of the passenger side. Stick a post-it on the dash. Tell your “little helper” if you aren’t shopping alone it is his or her job to remind Mom and Dad to bring the bags into the store. And if all else fails right before you enter the store, we placed signs to help you remind you as well. We’re all trying to get into the habit together.
CAN Hunger! Continues
These days, the less fortunate in the area need help year round, and that's the reason that Trucchi's Can Hunger food drive isn't just for the holidays anymore. The successful program delivered donated food to a number of food pantries around the region this holiday season. However, after the donations were made this year, word came back that these times are especially difficult for many area families for a variety of reasons. Among the causes are the rises in gasoline and heating oil prices. Also, many of the pantries have recently had their aid cut. Trucchi's answered the call by making its CAN Hunger! Food Drive year round. The announcement was made in a February advertisement, and will be featured in subsequent ads and in-store signage. Through the program, new non-perishable canned or boxed food items are collected at each store and distributed to a food pantry in each town that is home to a Trucchi's. (The locations are Taunton, St. Vincent De Paul; West Bridgewater, the West Bridgewater Food Pantry/Council on Aging; and Abington, Abington Food Pantry; New Bedford, Solanus Casey Food Pantry.) See your local Trucchi's Supermarket for more details.
New Bean Carts Have Arrived!
Make shopping easy for you and fun for the kids with our new fleet of McCue Bean Carts. Each cart features a carriage back and a front cab where kids can "drive" arround the store. A moving steering wheel, swing arms, and room for two children makes our Bean Carts the safe and fun way to shop with the kids. Carts are available in our New Bedford, West Bridgewater, and both Taunton locations.
